Q. How is Raynor massage different from a regular Swedish or Sports massage?
A. Raynor Naturopathic Massage & Bodywork is a deep tissue massage which can also be referred to as therapeutic (or remedial) massage. It was developed by Brandon Raynor from a combination of different styles of massage used worldwide, including Chinese, Ayurvedic, Swedish, Shiatsu and Hawaiian massage and reflexology. It works not just on the soft tissues but can aid in restructuring and aligning joints and bones.

Q. Are you insured?
A. Yes I am fully insured to practice and hold public liability insurance.

Q. What payment options do you accept?
A. Due to the need to reduce covid-19 risks handling cash, payment is now required in advance of your appointment by bank trabsfer or Paypal.

Q. Where is your treatment room?
A. I work exclusively from my home based treatment room in Newport, Barnstaple. It is a lovely tranquil space, with free parking available.

Q. What has changed to reduce covid-19 transmission risk?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A. Lots! A covid risk assessment has been completed and several changes made in line with government guidance. For example .. the contents of the treatment room have been minimised and anything not required for your treatment is stored away. Cleaning takes place between each and every client. Paper hand towels and an automatic soap dispenser have replaced cotton hand towels and normal soap. A plastic container is now provided for your possessions and clothing so no bulky items should be brought with you. You will need to complete and return a pre-screening questionnaire (its really short) before each appointment. Your temperature will be taken on arrival. I will be wearing a visor and clean clothes for each appointment. All payment is handled online in advance of appointments. All of this is kept under regular review.
If you or any member of your household has symptoms of covid-19 (a high temperature, a new continuous cough or a loss of taste or smell) you should not come to your appointment.

Q. What days do you offer treatments?
A. I currently offer appointments in my Barnstaple treatment room Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 1100, 1400 and 1630.

You can also view available appointments on NuBody Massage Devon's facebook page.

Q. How do I change or cancel an appointment?
A. Please get in touch by phone, text or email as soon as you know you need to change an appointment and I will be happy to find another time for you.
If you cancel on the day of or the day before your appointment you are likely to be asked to pay in full (unless this is because of covid-19 symptoms).

Q. I can't get to your treatment room - do you do home visits?
A. Home visits have always been an exception and only for multiple clients at the same address, as I need to fit them into a bust treatment room schedule.
Due to the need to reduce risks during the covid-19 pandemic, all mobile visits are currently suspended and I will only see clients in my treatment room.

Q. I am currently being treated by my GP for back and shoulder problems can I still have a treatment?
A. Whilst Raynor massage can help relieve stress and tension and help ease healing from sorts or other injuries, I am not a medical professional and cannot give you medical advice. If you are currently receiving medical treatment you may wish to discuss the compatibility of treatment and massage with your medical practitioner. In most cases, receiving massage will be fine, but there are some circumstances (e.g. after surgery or with some illnesses) where it will be best to wat a few months before receiving your massage. Before your first massage you will be given a full consultation to discuss any relevant medical history to ensure that the treatment is right for you, and that if required, adaptations can be made.
