Raynor Naturopathic Massage

Raynor Naturopathic Massage is a system of deep tissue massage and bodywork which can also be referred to as therapeutic (or remedial) massage. It was developed by Brandon Raynor using a combination of different styles of massage used worldwide. These include Chinese, Ayurvedic, Swedish, Shiatsu and Hawaiian massage and reflexology. It is an extremely effective form of massage therapy and can be beneficial in the treatment of a range of conditions, and enhances general physical and emotional well-being, by returning your body to a state of relaxation, helping to realign and restructure, and improving the body's energy flow. Raynor Massage is suitable for all ages and can be used in pregnancy (after 3 months).

About Your NuBody Treatment

My purpose as your therapist is simple – to find any residual tension in your body and remove it using the techniques I am trained in. I will assess your individual treatment needs through consultation and during treatment, and will work with you to get the best results from a tailored approach.

Prior to your treatment you will complete a Medical Questionnaire as it is important that as your therapist, I understand current or previous injuries or medical conditions that may affect how I deliver your treatment. All information you provide is treated in confidence.

During your massage, I will assess you on the massage table.
In your introductory session, I will find where your tension is held, and plan a course of action to eliminate it. If you are feeling discomfort in one part of your body you might think that should be the focus for the massage. However, often the cause of that discomfort will be tension held elsewhere – my aim is to trace the root of the tension and work from that point. The hands, feet and head are often neglected in other forms of massage therapy, but often hold a lot of tension themselves and are extremely important in releasing tension elsewhere.

Raynor naturopathic massage is a system of bodywork intended to treat the whole person.

After Your Massage

After your treatment, you are likely to notice an improvement in your mobility and energy levels and any previous discomfort or pain caused by muscle tension should be reduced. Everyone responds differently to massage though; in some the improvements are noticed immediately, and in others it takes a day or two. Some clients may feel tired after a massage, and it is common to have a good night’s sleep after treatment.

Following treatment, it is advisable to drink plenty of water to flush out toxins released during the massage. If you can, avoid caffeinated drinks and alcohol.

If you are new to massage, or new to deep tissue massage, and don’t know how you are likely to feel after your treatment, my advice would be not to expect to bounce straight out of your treatment and off to a party. If you do feel like that, then fantastic! But if you can, be prepared to do something low energy (or nothing at all) in case you do feel sleepy.
